Simple Translation
Alternatively, (If he slipped, after becoming well advanced in the yOga practice), he takes birth in the great families of very wise yOgis. Aren’t these two types of births difficult to attain [for people] in this world?
Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam
‘Or, he is born in a family of wise yogis, but this kind of birth indeed is in this world most seldom merited.’
If he had diverged from Yoga almost at the stage of fruition, he is (now) born in a family of illuminated sages (yogīs), or those who are themselves versed in the Science of Yoga and can indoctrinate others too in it. In both these cases, difficult among mankind is such re-incarnation viz: (1) that of being born among the yoga-fit, and (2) of being born among the yoga-full. When it does take place, it is a result of the efficacy of Yoga pursued to a certain extent already and discontinued for (some reason or the other).
