yeṣām arthe kāṅkṣitaṁ no
rājyaṁ bhogāḥ sukhāni ca
ta ime ’vasthitā yuddhe
prāṇāṁs tyaktvā dhanāni ca

For whom we seek (by fight) possessions, joys and comforts, – those very men, risking lives and fortunes, stand for contest! (viz):
