Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam
‘Others sacrifice the senses: hearing etc., into
the Samyama[4. Samyama is restraining or controlling. It is allegorised as fire, because the function of the sense is burnt up by it. Each sense requires a fire. Hence in the plural ‘fires’.]-fires.’
I.e., Others engage in endeavours to control the senses.
