SrI bhagavAn uvAcha
kuthas thvA kaSmalam idham vishamE samupasthitham |
anArya jushṭam asvargyam akIrthikaram arjuna ||

SrI bhagavAn uvAcha – bhagavAn said,
arjuna – Oh arjuna!
anArya jushtam – attained by the foolish ones
asvargyam – that which blocks the heavenly after-life
akIrthikaram – one that is the cause for abomination
idham kaSmalam – this sorrow
vishamE – at inappropriate place
kutha: – why
thvA – you
samupasthitham – acquired

bhagavAn said – Oh arjuna! In this matter [of unqualified relatives], why have you acquired this sorrow that is attained by foolish ones, that which blocks the heavenly after-life, one that is the cause for abomination?
